The Process
Once we have confirmed your inspection requirements we liaise with the parties involved in the property before the day of the house inspection making sure everything is ready for us.
Once we arrive on-site our fully experienced trade certified licensed building practitioners get to work using our clear and easy to follow company template.
All our house inspections and assessments are from a visual basis. What does a visual inspection mean ? We capture any defects or areas that require further investigation from our highly trained eyes. Whilst this is a limitation we believe this skill only comes with years of experience and understanding on building techniques and materials. We have extensive knowledge on all things construction which means we have an eye for detail. Rest assured you are in good hands.
On average a house inspection or assessment takes around 2 hours depending on the size of the property. After the completion of the inspection we finalize our comprehensive report and email this to you the same day. Same day turn around helps you make decisions faster as we all know time can be restricted. Earthquake damage assessments can take a little longer than the same day turn around. It all depends on the extent of the damage and documentation received before the site visit.
The building landscape is forever changing. Houses design and construction has changed greatly over the years so having the team at URBANZ that has worked extensively with older houses through to more modern houses gives you absolute peace of mind.
Aftercare
Our services dont stop after the report has been sent to you. We pride ourselves on providing additional time if required on further explaining the final house inspection report. We are only to happy to guide you through our findings and provide advice.

FAQs
-
Generally no its not. Building regulations are forever changing. An older styled home can not be expected to comply with today’s regulations especially when it comes to design. When a house is built in a particular era it generally complies with the regulations of that time.
-
Again generally it does not. Another ‘ changing of the times ‘ compliance issue but we would always recommend an qualified electrician to have a look to make sure everything is safe and above board.
-
Any house is fit for market. It just depends on how much people are willing to pay for it. We always recommend making sure there are no hidden surprises that could cost you long delays when selling and endless lawyer fees. Our reports cover all bases
-
Always a 24 hour turnaround once we have finished the site inspection. Most of time we get the report to you on the same day
-
We pride ourselves in our ‘ Aftercare ‘ service. Always wiling to provide guidance and advice
-
If you are a purchaser we prefer that you are not on-site during our inspections. If you are the vendor you have the right to be there as it is your home. We are completely non-biased in our reporting.
-
Of course! We are only too happy to check out any concerns you have about the property. We will make sure this is covered in the report
